WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
This luminous Chardonnay fills the glass with elegant aromas of citrus blossom, honeysuckle, and exotic spice. Flinty minerality and bright honeydew melon add lift, while vibrant acidity and lithe structure create a sense of purity and poise. Beautifully balanced, it delivers energy, freshness, and lasting finesse.
TASTING NOTES:
This has a lovely core of fruit with aromas of nectarines, grilled lemons and flint. The midweight, textural palate shows balanced acidity, finishing with a slight phenolic grip. Moving out of the cooler 2023 bottling, this is far more generous and open.

The 2024 Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay displays a medium straw-yellow in color with lively aromas of tart apple. Medium-bodied and nicely layered on the palate, showing dry, fine acidity with biting apple and zingy mineral notes. Beautifully balanced with a crisp, racy finish that keeps the wine vibrant and refreshing. Perfect with oysters on the half shell or a plate of freshly shucked Kumamoto oysters with a squeeze of lemon. (Tasted: March 8, 2026, San Francisco, CA)
