2024 J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay, Arroyo Seco, USA (750ml)

WINEMAKER'S NOTES:

Riverstone's enticing aromas are reminiscent of ripe citrus and apricot, white nectarine, and baking spices. The balanced acidity and texture on the palate from barrel aging sur lie frames flavors of Meyer lemon, ripe peach, citrus cream, hazelnut, and cocoa, with a hint of oak on the long finish.

This versatile wine can be enjoyed as an aperitif with triple crème brie, Gruyère, or Asiago cheeses. It will prove a wonderful pairing with Tuscan bean soup, sesame-apricot chicken, mussels in white wine sauce, shrimp scampi, or sauteed scallops.

TASTING NOTES: 

Lemons, creme brulee and toasted coconut make for a comforting nose before flavors of pears, white stone fruit, jasmine and oak spices. For all of that richness, this remains fresh, with a mineral core anchoring it all. Drink or hold for the short term.
