WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The 2022 Merlot offers aromas and flavors of supple red cherry, pomegranate, cocoa powder, and vanilla. The texture is silky smooth with well integrated tannins.
Blend: 95% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon
TASTING NOTES:
This delicious, approachable wine is quite chocolaty and effusive. Cocoa and candied cherry aromas, cherry syrup and cola flavors on moderate tannins.

The Merlot comes from the 40-hectare Mt. George Vineyard in Coombsville. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel and aged primarily in 20% new French oak with a small portion in Hungarian oak for 20 months, contributing a deep warming spice baseline. These elements lift the aromatics of fresh pipe tobacco from the glass. This medium-bodied Merlot offers crunchy currant fruit and apple-skin-like tannins layered with warm spice, mocha notes, and hints of blood orange. The finish carries a high-toned, vibrant character, making this an expressive and intriguing wine.
