WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
The 2021 REX HILL Seven Soils Chardonnay exudes balance and complexity with a bouquet that combines bright fruit aromas with meadow flowers and dried herbs. Crisp fuji applies and juicy Asian pears delight the nose and evoke a sunny orchard in the summertime. The palate is vibrant with refreshing acidity that brings out leafy citrus flavors. A mineral note adds salinity and a sense of terroir, while nuanced flavors of warm toast and cinnamon from oak provide complexity without overwhelming its natural character. The fresh fruits and gentle toasty notes carry over from the aroma with a satisfyingly tidy finish.
TASTING NOTES:
The wine's dominant tart pineapple aroma is tempered by bursts of brown sugar and chalkboard dust. The tropical theme continues on the palate, with tangerine, coconut and orange-cake flavors gliding along a creamy texture. This is a lighter bodied Chardonnay with energetic acidity and a nice finish.
