WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Very interesting, almost Bordeaux-like on the nose, with earthy black raspberry, plum, black cherry, cigar box, graphite, and tanned leather. Stately and full-bodied on the palate, where the dark red and black fruits mingle with baked clay, pencil lead, milk chocolate, wildflower honey, and river minerals to create a harmonious and compelling wine. This will be a nice bottle to lay down for a couple of years and enjoy over the following couple decades.
TASTING NOTES:
Leading off the Bordeaux blends from this great estate, the 2020 Gravura offers attractive mulled red and black cherry fruits, some spicy, savory herbs, and sandalwood notes, medium body, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. It's another impeccably made 2020 from Chris Peterson with lots to love. The blend is 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 12% Cabernet Franc, from a mix of top sites in the Columbia Valley that spent 20 months in 50% new French oak.

The Gravura's black-cherry, burnt caramel and Medjool date aromas are joined by a massive burst of cedarwood oil. The palate features tarter fruit flavors of red cherry and boysenberry, with traces of clove and a mocha latte. The wine's brawny tannins may need taming with time or a decanter.
