WINEMAKER'S NOTES:
Château les Hauts Conseillants is the dream of a tenacious man, Leopold Figeac who decided to restore this 4ha estate in the 1970s. All his efforts have been justified since the estate is now well regarded within the appellation.
Ripe plum, raspberry and black cherry flavours with hints of liquorice and tobacco. The palate is round with a good structure and mature tannins.
TASTING NOTES:
Floral dark berries, you can smell the Cabernet Franc, plus black cherry and blackcurrant. Plush and opulent in a refined way, this has a wide frame, slightly large tannins giving a good mouthfeel, lots of freshness and enjoyment. Not massively complex or long, but there's nice immediate appeal here; it's round and gently voluptuous. Has both a sense of sharpness as well as plushness, really bright and energetic, has a sleekness, too; a lovely combination of factors keeping a bright overall effect. Nothing sticks out, a touch of liquorice on the finish, but tannins are well integrated. Refined, keeps a sense of style, but nice overall red fruit freshness. Lovely fresh ending with a minty touch. Drink now and over the next five years to enjoy the fruit.

Notes of spiced plums, ripe blackberries, dark chocolate and walnut. Some wet asphalt, too. Medium-bodied with firm, powdery tannins and velvety texture. Juicy and blue fruited palate. Flavorful finish. 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.

This partially wood-aged wine is dense and rich. Black-coffee aromas, rich tannins and a juicy blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc give a powerfully, ripe wine that still has solid tannins. Drink from 2026.
