2019 Tenuta Prima Pietra Toscana IGT Tuscany, Italy (750ml)

WINEMAKER'S NOTES: 

In the glass it is clear and lively. The nose is broad and persistent with notes of red berries with delicate spicy notes and a balsamic finish. In the mouth it is complex, with great extractive richness, rich in soft, thick but velvety tannins. 

TASTING NOTES: 

Lots of blackberry, cherry, lightly toasted oak and cedar character on both the nose and palate. Medium to full body, chewy yet polished tannins and a fresh finish. From organically grown grapes. This will soften and show even more complexity in three or four years. Try after 2025.

The 2019 Rosso Prima Pietra opens with a sheen of new oak underscored by crushed blackberries and cherries, followed by violet and sweet lavender nuances. It's seamlessly silky and supple yet savory as well. A bitter twang of dark chocolate offsets masses of mineral-inflected red and black fruits. A coating of fine tannins wraps the palate in youthful poise as the 2019 finishes staining, structured and long. Bury these deep in the cellar for the best results. 92+
